Loading... Born a day after the American Independence in Jalandhar, Punjab, India, I've spent most part of my life there. Studied till 5th standard in St. Joseph's Convent School, Jalandhar, and later had to join Apeejay School, Jalandhar as, perhaps, the former school decided boys could be troublesome in a girls' school after 5th. After completing schooling in APJ (till 12th), joined National Institute of Technology [NITJ] (again, in Jalandhar) as a Computer Science & Engineering student in 2005. During the worst period of downtime (recession), got an on-campus placement in Accenture in 2008. Graduating from college took another year after that, and finally joined Accenture in mid-2009. Blogging after quite some time.

  • Been busy recently with making certain important decisions about the future of Granular Project.
  • My temporary obssession of packaging RPMs has returned. Packaging updates and new RPMs since a few days now.
  • I try to start each day with studying, but miss it. The I try again to study after returning from college, miss it again. Completely frustrated because of that.
  • Playing table tennis (TT) continuously since past two weeks. Beginning to realize excess of everything is bad. :Sigh: why TT is so addictive?
  • Trying to complete all tasks in my long to-do list. Completed quite a few (and got some satisfaction), but most of them are still pending. God knows when I’ll be able to finish them.
  • March ’09 has been quite a happening month till now for me. Expecting more to come in next few days.
  • Changed the blog’s theme to iNove.

MyBlog is a very simple, nice looking, fast, and easy-to-use blogging application targeted to be used as personal blog. It has been completely coded in PHP, and uses MySQL as the database backend. Unlike many other blogging systems available, like WordPress, Movable Type, etc., MyBlog contains only those features that should be sufficient enough to maintain a personal blog. This adds to the fast speed blogging offered by MyBlog.

Some salient features of Myblog:

  • A full-featured Dashboard (admin area).
  • Uses FCKEditor for creating dealing with posts and adding comments.
  • Categories are supported.

You heard it. Google’s Gmail offers themes now. Now, how did I first come to know about this? I woke up yesterday night to download some important stuff, started the download, opened Gmail in browser, checked my emails, changed my status message in Gmail to “Sleeping”, let the browser remain open with Gmail, turned off the monitor of my PC, and went to my bed to have some sleep while the download was in progress. Today, as I was reading a friend’s email, I noticed he had used smileys in his email. It was surprising as I had seen people attaching images with the email, but emoticons? And that not attached but embedded in the text itself. [more]

Today, while Googling casually, I found out an all new feature in the normal Google search results. [more]

Thanks to my faulty and irritating (BSNL broadband) Internet connection, my most visited webpage is one of those frustrating default pages of Firefox (yup, you guess it; I am a Firefox user). [more]
